You can carry your computer's address book in your iPod.
To do this, just copy your computer's address book onto your iPod.
But remember -

  1. Windows users should be using at least Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and have the address book stored in Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook 2003 or later.
  1. Mac users should be using at least Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and the Mac OS X Address book.

To load your computer's address book onto your nano ;
  1. Connect the iPod to your computer.
  1. Click the nano icon in the iTunes Source list.
  1. Click "Contacts" in the iTunes window.
  1. Then, Windows users - select the checkbox next to "Sync contacts from". Select your program from the pop-up menu.
  1. Mac users - Select the "Sync Address Book contacts" checkbox.
  1. Then select your option.
  1. To sync all contacts automatically, select "All contacts."
  1. To sync contact groups you've created, choose them from the "Selected Groups" box.
  1. If contacts photos are available, select "Include contacts' photos...
