In Video, The color green is carried both in the green channel as well as the luma or brightness channel.
This makes it easier to key out in video.
Blue, on the other hand, causes spill which is more visually acceptable.
With better spill removal tools, however, this is no longer an issue...

This technique is used in movies, television and weather broadcasts.
