Scanning A Photo Using HP Scanning Utility


Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected to the computer, OR connected over the WIFI network.
Step 1. Open the scanner cover.
Step 2. Place the photo to be scanned face down on the scanner bed, its edges touching the bottom right hand corner of the scanning bed.
Step 3. Flip down the scanner lid.
Step 4. Double click the HP DeskJet Icon. This Launches the HP Printer Assistant.
Step 5. Click "Scan a Document or Photo".
The left hand area of the panel provides convenient presets.
Step 6. Choose "Photo to file".
Step 7. In the right hand side panel, choose a resolution. We choose 300 dpi.
Step 8. Choose the type of image to save to. We choose the png format.
