App Store - Find and Install iPhone Applications


You can use App Store, on your iPhone, to find and download applications directly from iTunes Store.

  1. Tap App Store on the Home screen.
  1. In the next screen, note the first 4 icons at the bottom - Featured, Categories, Top 25 and Search.

  1. Each helps you find applications in different ways.

    1. The last used screen is currently displayed.
    • In our demo, this is the Categories screen.
    • This lists various categories of applications.

    1. Tap Featured.
    • The next screen shows applications being featured in the iTunes Store.
    • This has 2 view options - New and What's Hot.

    1. Tapping Top 25 takes you to a list of the Top 25 iPhone applications.
    This also has 2 view options - Top Paid and Top free.
    • Top Paid lists applications for which you pay a license fee.
    • Top Free lists free applications.

    1. Tap Search.
    • A search bar appears on the next screen.
    Tap it.
    • A "letters" keyboard comes up.
    Type details of an application you want to see
    • Various results get listed.
    Tap one.
    • Several applications get listed.

    • For a fresh search, you can tap the search bar again.

    1. In all views, finding a listed application involves the same steps.
    In this demo, we search for an application through the Categories view.
    1. Tap Categories.
    You see a list of categories.
    1. Tap any category, say Social Networking.
    A Social Networking screen opens, with various applications listed.
    1. For each application, you see
    • its icon,
    • its developer,
    • its name,
    • its user rating,
    • the number of reviews, and
    • its price.
