Retrieving email


  1. Your iPhone 3G retrieves email in broadly 2 ways.
    • by using Push to get email from the server, or
    • by fetching email from the server.
    1. Push email accounts are always synced with the email server.
    The moment the server gets email, your iPhone receives it.To enable Push,
      • On the Home screen, tap Settings.
      On the Settings screen, tap Fetch New Data.The Fetch New Data screen opens.
        • Tap and turn the Push switch ON.
          • Now, if a Push email account - like Yahoo - is configured on your iPhone, your iPhone will receive messages as they arrive on the server.
          1. Your iPhone 3G can also fetch email from the server.
          a. Scroll to the Fetch section.b. Tap one of the first 3 options, say Every 30 minutes.Now, your iPhone will automatically fetch email from your server at 30 minute intervals for all your accounts.
                    1. To fetch email from your server manually, you can tap and choose Manually.
