CONFIGURING APPEARANCE OF ICONS


Although Microsoft's default is to stack up all the open folders into one icon on the taskbar, this can be changed.1. Right-click on any empty portion of the taskbar. It will bring up a context menu with several items. The last item on this popup menu is properties.2. Left-click on properties.The taskbar and start menu properties window opens.This has three tabs:3. If the taskbar tab is not active, click it.In the top panel, under taskbar appearance there are several options to customize the taskbar.The last option under taskbar appearance is taskbar buttons.4. Click on the drop-down arrow on the right hand side.Three options are available:

  • Always combine, hide labels
  • Combine when taskbar is full and
  • Never combine.
The currently active option is Always combine, hide labels.With this option active, whenever folders open, they get combined into a single icon stack on the taskbar, ...
